A Chris Rock performance is like going back to the 80s, not for the material, but for something else.

This is because all of his shows are classified as ‘phone free’ shows.

This event will be a phone-free experience. Use of phones, smart watches and accessories, will not be permitted in the performance space.

When you arrive at the venue, all phones, smart watches and other accessories will be securely placed in individual ‘Yondr’ pouches that will be opened when the event is finished. You will still be in possession of your device(s) for the duration but can only access them throughout the event only in the designated phone areas. All devices must be re-secured in the pouches when you return to the performance space.

Chris Rock, is a well established and hugely popular stand-up comedian and actor.

Rock was presenting a section of the Oscars on Sunday evening when he referred to Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith and the hair loss condition alopecia that she was diagnosed with in 2018.

“Jada, I love, ‘G.I. Jane 2’, I can’t wait to see it,” joked Rock.

The camera instantly cut to Will Smith who was sitting beside wife of 25 years Jada.

Initially, Smith appeared to laugh at the joke but after seeing the look on his wife’s face, he marched on stage, walked straight towards Rock and smacked him on the face with his right hand.

Smith then returned to his seat from where he shouted at Rock: “Keep my wife’s name out of your f***ing mouth.”

Rock replied: “I am going to - that was the greatest night in the history of television,” said a visibly shocked Rock.

Smith went on to take home the Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Richard Williams, the father of global tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams, in the movie ‘King Richard’.
