Canary Wharf's Winter Lights Festival returns this month

Nighttime in Canary Wharf is set to get brighter in the next few weeks as the area's beloved Winter Lights festival display switches on for another year.

2024 will mark the eighth year of the glowing illuminations across Canary Wharf. The annual light trail spans across the district, with displays located from Union Square to Westferry Circus.

This year's light trail will welcome a total of 12 temporary installations, which will accompany some of the area's other permanent unique artworks.

When does the 2024 Canary Wharf Winter Lights Festival start and end?

Canary Wharf's Winter Lights festival will start later this month on January 17. It will light up London's business district from 5pm until 10pm daily until January 27.

How to get there 2024 Canary Wharf Winter Lights Festival

Visitors wanting to check out the Canary Wharf Winter Lights Festival can take the underground or the Elizabeth line to get to the light display trail.

Those arriving from the underground, which is accessible via the Jubilee line, will be a short walk from the illuminations in Montgomery Square. Submergence by Squidsoup, in particular, is based in the area, which offers Londoners a chance to walk amidst a curtain of suspended lights.

Alternatively, others arriving from the Elizabeth line station will also be close to a few installations, including the light pyramid-style Vessels sculpture by Limbic Cinema.
