British Airways opens pilot applications for Heathrow Airport - what you need and how to apply

British Airways are set to expand its Heathrow team as the airline opens applications for pilots.

British Airways is in search of new pilots to join its Heathrow team. The airline is set to expand its roster of pilots at its main hub at the world famous London airport.

The international flight operator currently has around 3,600 pilots but is expected to expand this further as it has opened applications for a new position.

The role of Direct Entry Pilot - A320 First Officer was opened at the start of this week. The job’s featured page on Linkedin states that the position already has over 160 applicants.

As per the role’s page on the BA website, pilots will be considered for two different areas of the company. This will include its new subsidiary, BA Euroflyer, as well as the main airline’s other Heathrow flights.

While BA Euroflyer was initially planned to offer short-haul flights at Gatwick, Heathrow still hosts several routes of the subsidiary via winter services.

This week BA opened its search for pilots to join its Heathrow team. The role of Direct Entry Pilot - A320 First Officer went live on the airline’s site at the start of the week.

The details of the job description explain that applicants will be considered for both British Airways as well as its new subsidiary BA Euroflyer. However, those applying must meet the minimum criteria.

To be considered for either British Airways or BA Euroflyer, applicants must have a UK Part-FCL Licence or started their initiated transfer process with the CAA. On top of that, applicants will need to have 500 hours or 100 sectors on an aircraft type that satisfies ZFTT and to have flown the particular type within the last year.
