Blitz Club exhibition at the Design Museum: Details, tickets, and nearest tube station
One of London’s most iconic clubs is set to be spotlighted in a new exhibition at the Design Museum.
The Blitz Club’s short-lived opening in London in the 80s will be at the centre of a new exhibition at the Design Museum.
Opened in 1979 while it was only around for two years, it became a formative landmark for the young creatives in the capital.
As well as being the spot that launched the careers of Spandau Ballet and Boy George, it was also where the New Romantics movement came together.
Regulars of the spot gained the nickname Blitz Kids, with David Bowie having even been known to make an appearance back in the day.
Four decades on, the London Design Museum is paying tribute to the spot with a dedicated display.
