Pack your bags! LNER’s beauty index has revealed the best time to visit the UK capital this autumn.
I might be biased (because I’m both a part-time Londoner and an October baby), but I think autumn is the best time of the year to visit the capital.
‘Why?’ I hear you ask. Well, it’s pretty simple: it looks lovely, the colours are stunning, and you don’t sweat as much on the underground.
Oh, and Londoners have got autumn fashion down to a T (or should that be a T-shirt?) We’re talking trench coats, gloves, scarves and long brown boots.
A new interactive map from LNER has just revealed the exact week to visit London for the city's most stunning autumn colours.
The research analysed historical climate records, local tree species, and photo evidence from across the country to estimate when leaves reach their most vibrant shades.
Each location was also given an Autumn Beauty score based on the richness and consistency of its reds, oranges, and yellows.
According to the Autumn Beauty Index, the peak time to visit London is between October 9th and 16th. This is when the capital is at its most gorgeous.
The city scored 78/100 on the Autumn Beauty Index and LNER recommends visiting Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Richmond Park and Greenwich Park for the best vibes.
