Flowers shaped like butterflies, teddy bears made of grass, and floral-inspired cocktails are all on the menu at this year’s Belgravia in Bloom.
Once again, the streets of Belgravia have come alive with tremendous floral installations and magical window displays.
The fun and floral event is on until Monday (26th May), the last Bank Holiday of May, giving you plenty of time to explore the borough’s botanical boutiques, hotels, cafes, pubs, and restaurants.
Luckily, Belgravia in Bloom has produced a very handy map to help you find your way around the fabulous floral installations.
The full itinerary can be covered in half a day, but make sure you wear some sensible shoes because you won’t want to miss a thing.
Belgravia in Bloom is open day and night until 26th May, and it's free to explore (win!).
Here’s what happened when we popped along to explore the oasis for ourselves.
As you wander along the streets of this charming neighbourhood, a short walk away from Victoria, Sloane Square, and Knightsbridge tube stations, you will come across several eye-popping floral displays showing impressive talent and creativity.
Each participating business displays its view of this year’s theme, ‘Through the Seasons’, celebrating nature in an urban environment.
Some installations are of a very large scale, like "Mother Nature" by Neill Strain on Eccleston Street. This huge head on a bed of flowers is made of moss and bark for the face, crowned with magnificent hair made of different foliage, peonies, roses, begonias, among other flowers. It is a psychedelic spectacle.
As you stroll through Belgravia, the itinerary takes you to hidden places that are an oasis of tranquillity, such as Eccleston Yards. In this tucked-away heaven, a swing seat by Moyses Stevens is languorously waiting for you.
Thirsty or hungry after your display hunting? Look no further... Local businesses have prepared floral-themed special offers and experiences.
Don’t forget to stop by the famous pink Peggy Porschen for coffee and cupcakes matching the floral theme.
Towards the end of the day, why not stop by the Ganymede for floral-inspired cocktails? Still hungry? Restaurants in the area, like the Jones Family Kitchen, offer floral-themed menus.
