London’s Leicester Square was well and truly transformed into Barbieland on Wednesday (July 12) as the capital hosted the upcoming doll-themed flick’s European premiere. From its pink carpet to a phone box and DJ booth in the same hue, London’s cinema district totally captured all the Barbiecore vibes.

Barbie pink took over the capital as the highly anticipated movie premiered in the UK. Hosted in the iconic Leicester Square, those travelling through the familiar spot could not miss the event’s glowing pink aura.

While fans on social media got a chance to see the pink carpet action up close, covered fencing gated off the premiere from the rest of the public square. However, this didn’t stop fans trying to get a glimpse of the festivities.

Luckily those nearby the premiere were not left out of the carpet coverage entirely. At the end of the pink carpet, there was a large screen which showcased some of the star interviews from hosts Clara Amfo and Amelia Dimoldenberg, as well as other sweet fan moments with the Barbie cast.

Despite the event being closed off from the public, its pink vibes still attracted large crowds. Not only did many dress the part, they also extended the Barbie love across Leicester Square.

Quite a few Barbie fans turned up dressed in the doll’s beloved colour of pink, while others recreated a few of Margot Robbie’s Barbie looks from the movie’s trailer. Some of the movie outfits seen across Leicester Square crowds included Robbie’s roller skating outfit and her rodeo-themed two-piece.

As Barbie fans can probably imagine, the premiere was pinktastic, and as a fan of the rosy hue myself, I was here for it. But having seen Leicester Square in all its pink glory, I’m not sure if I can bear to see go back to normal again.
