Hide AdFilmworks is a residential, leisure and hospitality development and the cinema will be the largest Picturehouse outside the West End, with more than 900 seats and a cafe, bar and restaurant.
Piers Clanford, chairman of St George Plc, said: “Ealing has long been synonymous with British cinema, with countless iconic shows and films produced in Ealing Studios over the years. With Filmworks also located on the site of the former Forum Theatre, it is fantastic to be working with Picturehouse to continue to bring this rich arts heritage to the forefront of the area.
“Ealing Picturehouse marks the final stage of our Filmworks development, which is home to more than 200 new homeowners, as well as a fantastic array of restaurants, bars and amenities. We look forward to watching this fantastic community continuing to grow and welcome both residents and visitors to this exciting new leisure destination.”
Clare Binns, managing director of Picturehouse Cinemas, said: “Picturehouse is all about showing the best films from around the world: films for everyone, young and old. To open in Ealing, which has such a rich history of film production, is so exciting – it's the perfect fit for a company committed to film on the big screen. Ealing Picturehouse has been a long time coming, but we're thrilled that the moment is here and we can open our doors to this wonderful palace of film.”
