The Commonwealth Games is soon to get underway, with all 72 Commonwealth Games Associations confirming they will send athletes to the 2022 games.
The UK last hosted the Commonwealth Games back in 2014, when it was held in Glasgow, but it will be the first time England has hosted the games in two decades.

Hide AdWomen’s T20 cricket, 3x3 basketball and 3x3 wheelchair basketball will all make their Games debuts, whilst it’s also a landmark year as these games mark the largest number of events involving women at 136.

When does the Commonwealth Games 2022 start?
The Commonwealth Games 2022, held in Birmingham, starts on 28 July 2022 with the opening ceremony.
No sports will take part that day, with Lawn Bowls being the first event to get underway on Friday, 29 July.
When does the Commonwealth Games end?

Hide AdThe Games last for just over a week, commencing on Monday, 8 August 2022. Badminton, hockey, squash and table tennis wrap up the sporting events with the closing ceremony also scheduled for the same day.
Which London athletes are representing team England?
