England will meet France in the World Cup quarter-final at 7pm today

England are preparing to face France in the World Cup quarter-final this evening as they look to claim their fourth win in five matches in Qatar. Morocco and Portugal will also meet in the earlier kick-off this afternoon.

The Three Lions have so far relied on a youthful line-up to put on some impressive displays during the tournament, with Bukayo Saka impressing in particular. Despite netting three goals in three matches, the Arsenal winger’s place in the starting XI has been under constant threat from in-form Marcus Rashford, who managed to displace him during the win over Wales.

Gareth Southgate has had to carefully pick his attack as he continues to be inundated with options, while he has also had to solve the dilemma of which formation to play - or which formation will help us put a stop to Kylian Mbappe’s constant threat up top.
