The West Ham manager will leave the London Stadium at the end of the season and already has a summer job lined up.

West Ham United manager David Moyes will leave his position at the club when his contract expires this summer but the Scotsman won't be walking away from football for good. The 61-year-old has already landed a summer gig and hinted at roles in the sport even away from management.

West Ham confirmed this week that Moyes would not renew his contract at the London Stadium. It is expected that the club will appoint former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui this summer to take the side into its new era.

In a statement on the club's website, Moyes took pride in leaving the club 'in a stronger position than when I returned back in 2019' and will quit the London Stadium remembered for leading the club to a famous Europa Conference League trophy last year.

After 26 years in management, Moyes' next career move remains to be seen. However, he has already been snapped up by talkSPORT ahead of Euro 2024 this summer.

Confirming the news on Thursday, the station wrote 'Give it Moysey for the Euros' in a brief social media post announcing the appointment. It added: "David Moyes joins the talkSPORT team to provide his expert insight and analysis throughout the tournament."

No further details have been unveiled yet but Moyes will join the likes of Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit and Everton star Ashley Young in Germany to help cover the tournament.

Speaking last year as questions over his future at West Ham first began to come, Moyes insisted that he was not thinking of retirement, even after managing well over a thousand matches. He told Sky Sports: "I'm not in a hurry to stop managing, that's for sure. I can grow teams and clubs. I genuinely think there are loads of similarities at West Ham [to Everton]. Things we can do better, what we're trying to do.

"The biggest milestone for me was always reaching 1,000 games as a manager because when you do that you've had a career out of management. It takes a long time to get to there and with what you must go through. If you're in work, it means you must be doing something right to keep yourself in the job.

"The fire always burns, even when I've been losing because I want to get back and get the result. The defeats are always hard to take and it doesn't get any easier the older you get."

Moyes had previously hinted that when he is done in management, he would be open to returning to Manchester United in another role. The Hammers boss was at Old Trafford between 2013 and 2014 as the first man to attempt to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson.

That tenure didn't even last 10 months but, speaking to The Diary of a CEO Podcast, Moyes was asked if he would ever return to the club. He refused to rule out the possibility as he told Steven Bartlett: "I don't think it'd ever be in a role as manager that's for sure. My time's gone. But I always love to be involved in football and hopefully, someone somewhere along the line will want to use my experience when my time's up being a football manager.

"Manchester United is a great experience. When you manage United it’s like living in the penthouse and looking out. You’re above everybody and you see the view much better, and for me, they were the penthouse."
