West Ham continue to be linked with a move for AS Roma and former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham. According to Foot Mercato, the Hammers are ‘very interested’ in a deal to land the England international and Roma are said to want to offload his big salary.
AC Milan and Juventus have shown tentative interest but have not pushed forward with Roma reportedly wanting to recover ‘most’ of the £34.7million they paid for him. West Ham would almost certainly need to offload players before they can spend so much on another player.
Glasner warning
Palace boss Oliver Glasner has made it clear the club need to recruit having lose Michael Olise and now Joachim Andersen this summer, while Marc Guehi is also being linked with an exit. “We have Jes and David out on loan. We didn’t extend Jairo’s and Tomkins’ contract,” said Glasner in his pre-match press conference.
“We sold one – maybe two more. We have lost seven of the squad, and we have brought in three. That doesn’t mean that we need four more, but it’s clear that we have to get at least two more players into the squad.”
