'Killed a move' - intriguing West Ham transfer update emerges after big deadline day decision
West Ham had a fairly quiet January transfer window, but they did make a striker signing in the form of Evan Ferguson from Brighton on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Ferguson made just 13 Premier League appearances for the Seagulls in the first half of the season, and so has joined West Ham in order to re-ignite his career after struggling with consistent form and injury problems over the past year.

West Ham prevent winger Guilherme’s Porto move
According to a fresh report by Portuguese outlet Record, winger Luis Guilherme was set to join Porto on a loan move for the remainder of the season, after he’s made just seven appearances for West Ham since signing from Palmeiras in the summer for £19m.
Guilherme, 18, had a deal which was virtually agreed between West Ham and Porto to leave the club on transfer deadline day, with the Hammers reportedly open to letting him leave on a loan move. However, Potter decided to select him on the bench for their game against Chelsea on deadline day, meaning that there wasn’t enough time for Porto to sign Guilherme, meaning that Potter’s decision effectively killed a move on deadline day.
The Hammers lost 2-1 to Chelsea in that game, despite opening the scoring through Jarrod Bowen. Guilherme did make an appearance in the game too, coming on as a substitute at Stamford Bridge in the 87th minute for defender Aaron Creswell. He will now hope that he can be more involved for the Hammers after Potter prevented the move to Porto.

Guilherme lined up as Mohammed Kudus replacement
Mohammed Kudus is currently Potter’s first-choice winger on the right-hand-side, having made 19 Premier League appearances for West Ham so far this season.
However, due to his impressive performances over the past two seasons, Kudus has generated reported transfer interest from both Arsenal and Liverpool, meaning that he could be subject to bids in the summer window. If the Ghanaian was to leave the London Stadium in the summer, Guilherme would likely become Kudus’ replacement as he hopes to develop into a regular starter for Potter and West Ham.
Liverpool have reportedly eyed Kudus as a potential replacement for Mo Salah, who is set to leave Anfield in the summer as his contract with the reds will expire in June. Furthermore, Arsenal want to add reinforcements on the wing as star man Bukayo Saka has been dealing with injury problems this season.
