West Ham star Michail Antonio has mocked 'delusional' Arsenal fans for the level of celebrations at the Emirates Stadium after Mikel Arteta's side booked a place in the Champions League quarter-final with a win over Porto on Tuesday night.

It has been 14 years since the Gunners made it this far in the European competition and the club will find out their opponents for the next round of the tournament on Friday. Arsenal fans are now beginning to dream that a possible double trophy success could be on the cards with the side vying for both Premier League and Champions League glory.

However, one football star who has taken issue with the Arsenal excitement is Hammers striker Antonio, who poured scorn on the club in the latest episode of the BBC Sounds' Footballers' Football Podcast. He said: "I've had this discussion about Arsenal fans before. I beef a lot of people. Arsenal fans. My agent is an Arsenal fan. I've got a load of family and friends who are Arsenal fans. They will come for me but they annoy me.

"I'm talking about my agent, my family and my friends. As soon as they are tiptoeing close to anything, they are the best team in the world. It's unbelievable how delusional these people are.

"Last year when we beat Arsenal at home when they were top of the league, my agent, who I've been with since I was 19, called me up and called me a waste man. He said, 'Why'd you have to do this to me?'. Some of the stuff that they say is outrageous. It's definitely premature. You've got into the quarter-finals, be happy, but walking around with cups and stuff it's a bit mad."

Antonio did go on to praise Arsenal's recent form under Mikel Arteta and the team's recent goal glut. The Gunners did indeed put six past West Ham at the London Stadium last month.

The West Ham man predicted that Arsenal will have enough to hold off Manchester City and Liverpool in the Premier League title race. "They're taking the mick, they are bagging for fun," he admired.
