West Ham £85m star labelled 'very good' by Chelsea man amid Arsenal transfer links

Italian giants Juventus are in the market for a centre-back and linked with a move for West Ham loanee Jean-Clair Todibo.

West Ham return to Aston Villa tomorrow afternoon as Graham Potter looks for his second victory in charge of the club.

Villa Park played host to Potter's Hammers debut earlier this month, when the London side were defeated 2-1 in FA Cup action by their Premier League rivals. Since then, West Ham beat Fulham 3-2 at home before losing 2-0 to Crystal Palace last weekend.

Ahead of the league action, LondonWorld looks at the transfer talk around West Ham in a Sunday round-up.

Juventus eye Todibo swoop

Juventus continue to be linked with an unexpected January swoop for West Ham centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo. The 25-year-old is only on loan at the London Stadium from Nice but it is speculated that the French outfit could recall the player in favour of a move to Italy.

Tuttosport carry reports of interest from Juventus. The Serie A giants are in the market for a centre-back this month but are supposedly unwilling to splurge money on a permanent signing.

Todibo has been in and out of the starting XI this season and has missed the last two Premier League outings after picking up an injury against Manchester City earlier this month. Potter has fielded Max Kilman and Konstantinos Mavropanos in those games, with Aaron Cresswell also handed a start against Crystal Palace.

Juventus are also linked with Newcastle United man Lloyd Kelly, who was another summer signing in the Premier League having made the switch to St James' Park from AFC Bournemouth. The Italian outfit had also been linked with a move for Todibo last summer, before West Ham won the transfer race.

It is claimed that should Todibo be brought back to Nice early, the French outfit could agree a loan-to-buy deal with Juventus. West Ham's current loan agreement includes an obligation to buy Todibo for £35 million at the end of the season, so long as the club stays in the Premier League.

Chelsea star’s praise for Mohammed Kudus

West Ham winger Mohammed Kudus appears likely to stay at the London Stadium this month, despite reports of transfer interest from Arsenal and Manchester City.

The 24-year-old has an £85 million release clause in his West Ham contract and Football Insider had reported that Manchester City were looking to trigger that earlier this month. The Gunners have been regularly linked with a move for the player, who would slot in perfectly to Mikel Arteta's system at the Emirates Stadium.

Chelsea are not a side that have been touted as potential suitors this month but had been linked with a transfer swoop last October. The Blues were one of the clubs that tried to sign the player from Ajax before he made the move to West Ham for £38 million.

There is still an admirer of Kudus at Stamford Bridge, however. Chelsea playmaker Cole Palmer this weekend praised the winger when ranking some of the league's most skilful players on Sky Sports.

When asked what he likes about Kudus, the England international said: “Everything. He’s fast, strong, technically good. Yeah, I think he’s a very, very, very good player.”
