West Ham will have to pay £60 million if they want to bring Everton star Amadou Onana to the London Stadium this summer. The Toffees believe the box-to-box midfielder has doubled in price since arriving at Merseyside in 2022.

That's according to Football Insider, with the outlet reporting that Everton would accept a £60 million transfer if West Ham can reach that figure. The Hammers have been hotly linked with a move for Onana, with those rumours only growing in strength as loanee Kalvin Phillips struggles at the club and a permanent summer move for the England international looks unlikely.

Onana is under contract until 2027 at Everton, so it is unsurprising that the club is demanding a lofty sum for his services. Onana has made 23 appearances for Everton in the Premier League this term and has been praised as 'terrific' by Sean Dyche for both his attacking and defensive work.

The 22-year-old is also a fully-fledged Belgium international with 11 caps for his national side. Roberto Martinez has also heaped praise on the player, who compared him to a former physical Everton midfielder. Martinez said: "Someone with such physical presence and dynamism is needed, just think of [Marouane] Fellaini in 2018. He is also a leader on the pitch who has made strides in his career. From Germany to France and now the Premier League… He deserves this.”

West Ham are not thought to be the only Premier League side interested in making a summer move for Amadou Onana. Arsenal, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur were also linked with January moves for the player.

The Hammers are looking to strengthen in midfield and thought they had done that with the addition of Phillips from Manchester City. However, the 28-year-old has struggled to settle and endured another showing to forget against Newcastle United as he gave away a penalty.
