West Ham want 'maverick' Premier League winner as Everton prepare £12m transfer - round-up

Graham Potter has had to wait for West Ham to spring into action during the transfer window.

West Ham are weighing up a move for Manchester City forward Jack Grealish this summer as a potential replacement for Mohammed Kudus.

The Ghana international has completed a £55 million move to Tottenham Hotspur to work under the new Thomas Frank regime. The Hammers have had a slow start to the window but, with that fee now pocketed, can start to bring in new faces.

Graham Potter is known to be keen to add youth to his squad and the arrival of El Hadji Malick Diouf from Slavia Prague for £19 million does just that. However, West Ham could also target more experienced Premier League players.

West Ham weigh up move for Jack Grealish

One of those could be Grealish, who has become a fringe player under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium. TBR Football claims that West Ham are ‘interested’ in Grealish and that enquiries about the player’s availability have been made.

The England international has been told that he can leave the club this summer and his representatives are said to be working hard on a new deal. Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Aston Villa are also said to have expressed an interest in Grealish.

Any move the player is likely to be a loan deal with the option to buy. Grealish has 190 Premier League appearances to his name with 27 goals and 31 assists.

Speaking about the player to talkSPORT recently, former Hammer Carlton Cole said: “He’s got to go and play, man! He’s not in the Club World Cup squad, so that’s a big sign. It’s been told to him [that he has no future at Man City]. It’s been done.

“Spain? Italy? We’ve seen players go to Italy and thrive. You look at someone like Napoli. [But] I just think he’s a bit of a homeboy. Come to West Ham, mate! Yeah, we’ll have him.”

Everton prepare Tomas Soucek bid

While the excitement builds over potential incomings, there are also set to be more exits from the London Stadium. One of those could be midfield linchpin Tomas Soucek, who has been heavily linked with a move to Everton to work under former West Ham manager David Moyes.

The Toffees are now said to have enquired about a move for Soucek, according to teamTALK. A £12 million bid for the player is said to be ‘imminent’ but the Hammers are not in a position to be pressured to sanction a transfer.

Everton are also looking at a deal for former West Ham man Vladimir Coufal, who is available on a free transfer after quitting the London Stadium this summer. The outlet touts that the chance of a reunion could help sway Soucek.
