West Ham can look forward to playing Europa League football next season after winning the Europa Conference League trophy. The Hammers won 2-1 in the final in Prague courtesy of Jarrod Bowen’s late winner.

Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez is a ‘leading target’ for West Ham this summer along with Fulham’s Joao Palhinha, as detailed in a report by the Evening Standard. The London club are weighing up potential replacements for if key man Declan Rice heads out the exit door, with Arsenal heavily linked.

Alvarez, who is 25-years-old, has been on the books of his current club since 2019 and has established himself as one of their most prized assets, scoring 13 goals in 147 games in all competitions to date. Prior to his switch to Holland, he rose up through the youth ranks of America in his native country before moving over to Europe.

Retained list announced

West Ham have published their retained list following the end of the last campaign. They have announced that Manuel Lanzini will be leaving on a free transfer. David Moyes has said: “On behalf of the players and coaching staff, I would like to thank Manu and wish him all the very best for the future.

“Manu has been a tremendous servant for the football club and a brilliant player for me in my time here as manager. In my first spell he played a key role in helping us to stay up, and he has always been someone I can rely on.”

Ademipo Odubeko, Armstrong Oko-Flex, Brian Kinnear, Asher Falase and Jamal Baptiste will also be leaving when thier deals expire later this month. Angelo Ogbonna has been offered fresh terms.
