West Ham expected starting XI vs Eintracht Frankfurt: Moyes to name best team with a tactical twist
West Ham manager David Moyes will have big decisions to make on who starts tonight in the must-win Europa League semi final against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Manager David Moyes does not have fresh injury concerns for the Eintracht Frankfurt clash, with Kurt Zouma again coming through training and looking healthier by the day.
There are talks that the West Ham boss is looking to mix up his formation, and will move Argentine midfielder Manuel Lanzini to float between wide and central midfield in a bid to cause chaos.
Pablo Fornals, who has looked dry on form in the last two games, is expected to be handed a new role where he supports the attack and drops into the midfield without the ball as Moyes seeks to bring all his experience to this must-win game in Germany.
West Ham have lost their last three games, including the weekend’s clash against Arsenal, however all have been tricky matches with Moyes rotating ahead of the European ties.
And the Hammers will be staring down the barrel of the Europa Conference League if they cannot turn things around against Frankfurt.
To be fair to Moyes, he’s had a mountain of injuries to deal with, but he will be delighted he was able to name Issa Diop amongst the substitutes against Arsenal.
His return gives the Scot options and cover in defence for tonight.
The Scottish manager has revealed this is the biggest game of his illustrious career - and even though he has had some really high moments at West Ham, Mancester United and Everton - it will be hard to beat taking the Hammers into a major European final.
So with the stake as high as they are, here is the team we expect him to put out against the Germans tonight.
