West Ham, Arsenal and Chelsea can bolster their ranks again in January

West Ham, Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly among the Premier League teams who are ‘admirers’ of Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Omar Marmoush, according to a report by CaughtOffside. Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United have also been credited with an interest.

The Bundesliga man appears to be a man in-demand in England ahead of the January transfer window. His current club could face a real battle to hold on to him in the future.

Marmoush, who is 25-years-old, has been on the books at Frankfurt since they snapped him up in May 2023. He has since scored 26 goals in 50 games in all competitions for them to date, nine of which have come this season.

He started his career in Egypt at Wadi Degla and rose up through their academy before breaking into their first-team as a youngster. The forward subsequently emerged on the radar of clubs in Europe and was snapped up by Wolfsburg in 2017.

The Cairo-born man initially played for the B team at the Volkswagen Arena before he went on to find the net on six occasions in 48 outings for their senior team. He also had loan spells away at FC. St Pauli and Stuttgart to get some experience under his belt.

Frankfurt took a gamble on him last year and it has worked out well for them. He scored a dramatic late equaliser for them in their last outing against Bayern Munich which has further boosted his reputation.

West Ham, Arsenal and Chelsea keen

West Ham could see Marmoush as someone to boost their attacking options this winter. The Hammers are sat in 12th place and have eight points on the board so far in this campaign under former Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui.

Arsenal are battling it out for the title once again this term as they look to pip the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool to top spot. Mikel Arteta has the chance to freshen up his squad with reinforcements in a couple of months time to give their chances a big boost ahead of the end of season run-in.

As for Chelsea, they are no strangers to signing players and may have identified Marmoush as a candidate to provide even more competition and depth to their forward department.

Enzo Maresca’s men were held 0-0 by Nottingham Forest last time out. Their boss has said: “When we started the season, to think by the second international break you are fourth, the way the team are playing, the way the team are learning to play different kinds of games, for sure I am very happy.

“We have 14 points from seven games, it is important, but for me it is also important to see the way we got 14 points – it has been in different ways, in different types of games, home and away. Against a team like today, who sit back and try to be aggressive, you have to use different weapons, but I think in general, we are very happy with where we are but for sure we can do many things better.”
