West Ham striker Michail Antonio scored the only goal of the game to give the Hammers all three points against Tottenham in the London derby.

Antonio has now scored six league goals from nine games with West Ham climbing to fourth on the league table.

The defeat means Tottenham have now lost all four London derbies against Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Arsenal and now West Ham United.

Here are five of the things we observed from the London Stadium.

What Moyes said after the game

West Ham manager David Moyes said: “We did have to be patient and in the end it gave us the good performances and lots of good things.

“I think the players and not just the players who played today but the squad but we are still getting used to it and I didn’t think we were tired but we just had to do it differently.”

Atmosphere at the London Stadium electric

The Atmosphere has improved massively at the stadium with fans enjoying the teams performances and the results that come with it.

A storming start to life in the Europa League has seen the Hammers win all three group games and last weekend’s impressive win at Everton helped boost confidence ahead of the derby today.

Every Declan Rice touch was met with a huge cheer and there is no doubt he has helped improve the atmosphere on match days. He is seen as one of their own and his performances have helped brighten up the atmosphere here.

It’s already a tough job replacing Mark Noble on the pitch but replacing him in the hearts of Iron fans will be almost impossible but Rice is showing it can be done  with every passing game.

Declan Rice being a great example for youngsters with his performance

Just like club legend Mark Noble, Declan Rice has come through the academy and is now stepping up as the captain of this team.

In an era where player loyalty and passion for a club is questioned, Rice’s fine form has coincided with West Ham’s form and most of the youngsters coming through the ranks will look at him and know they have a decent chance if they work for it.

He continues to be linked with moves to Manchester United and Chelsea but there is no doubt he feels at home here.

Declan Rice has his best years ahead of him

Aged just 22 Rice has already played more than 150 games for West Ham and his maturity and experience have been priceless in these last two glorious years but there is belief that his best years are still ahead of him.

He has established himself as an undisputed starter at both club and national level at a time competition for places in both sides are at an all time high.

He is playing with the best players in the best competitions and that can only mean he will get better with age and more games.

West Ham currently value him  around 70 million but there is every chance that he will shoot up in the next couple of years if he continues performing at this level.

Lucas Moura needs to find a goal

Lucas will forever be remembered in Tottenham history for scoring the hat-trick in Amsterdam that took them to the Champions League in 2019.

He’s also one of the best behaved footballers on the planet with a remarkable attitude and enviable professionalism.

He has currently worked his way back into the starting but he’s gone eight months without scoring and that is not a good look on any forward player.

He was incredibly unlucky to see his defeat against Aston Villa credited as a Matt Targett own goal.

Against West Ham he ran his socks off but with Harry Kane struggling for goals at the moment, the forward players and midfielders will have to chip in.

Michail Antonio is a fox in the box

All of Michail Antonio’s 52 Premier League goals have come from inside the box. It was really strange to see that he was being marked by Harry Kane who lost him for the goal, normally you’ll get your best defenders mark the opponents best finisher.

He has now scored six Premier League goals and only Tim Cahill (56) and Chicharito (53) have scored more goals from inside the six yard box.

Antonio started as a full back at West Ham before moving into midfield and now as the brutal forward he has become. He exemplifies the progression that has taken place at West Ham so far.
