West Ham will return to Premier League action on Monday night when they make the trip to the Emirates to take on Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

The Hammers have had a disappointing start to the campaign and pressure is mounting on manager David Moyes. The Hammers are 16th on the Premier League table after 15 games while Arsenal are topping the table with 37 points.

Also staggering is the fact that David Moyes, who will be on the touchline, has never won an away Premier League game against Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea.

Since first taking over Everton in 2002 Moyes has faced these four clubs 70 times and has lost 49 times and drawn the rest without ever tasting a win. This also includes his time as manager of Manchester United, Sunderland and his two stints as West Ham manager.

Arsenal have lost only once this season and Mikel Arteta is hoping that his team will continue from where they left off before the league paused to give way to the World Cup.

The Gunners though will have to cope without their energetic Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus who picked up a knee injury at the World Cup and has undergone surgery.

West Ham can not afford to continue on the same tangent they were before the break which makes the game on Monday night one of the most anticipated on the boxing day fixtures.
