Ten incredible photos as West Ham stun Lyon to reach Europa League semi-final in France

West Ham produced a memorable display to reach the Europa League semi-final in 46 years.

West Ham United are just two games away from playing in the Europa League final after a brilliant display against Lyon saw them beat their French opponents 3-0 away.

Barcelona could not keep their side of the bargain and West Ham will now have to settle for a date with one of Germany’s traditional clubs in Eintracht Frankfurt,

The signs had been appearing for the Hammers even during the first leg as they held the French side to a 1-1 draw in the first leg despite playing the entire second half a man down.

In what was a charged atmosphere in France, it was Lyon who actually started the game on fire with Toko Ekambi striking the post in the first five minutes which rattled the visiting Irons.

But Craig Dawson attacked the near post from a Pablo Fornals corner to give the Hammers a lead.

Captain Declan Rice then added the second to complete a perfect first half display in Europe and put the Hammers truly on their way.

Jarrod Bowen settled any doubts with a brilliant goal to ensure West Ham would play in a European semi-final for the first time in 46 years.

The reward for going that far is a game against Eintracht Frankfurt who defied the odds and form to beat favourites Barcelona at the Camp Nou.

With Kurt Zouma left behind in London due to injury, and with no replacement for Michail Antonio, David Moyes continues to dominate and punch above his weight with this West Ham team.

Below we bring you some of the amazing pictures from the game in Lyon.
