'It's just gone' - Pundit thinks West Ham have signed player whose body is failing him
West Ham may have signed a player who is no longer up to the task.
West Ham have signed a player who can no longer play in the Premier League, according to one pundit. The Hammers have had a very disappointing start to the season that has seen them lose five of their first six games of the season across all competitions.

Graham Potter is now under serious pressure, and while he is expected to keep his job for now, the expectation is that he will be sacked in the coming weeks as the Hammers prepare for tricky fixtures with Everton and Arsenal.
Managers and head coaches often take the fall, but layers also have a share in such failures, and there is no doubting that many West Ham players have been underperforming for some time, with the whole of last season having been a disappointment.
One player who has disappointed more recently, according to former player turned pundit Troy Deeney, is Callum Wilson, who signed for the Hammers on a free transfer during the summer window, arriving after a long and successful run at Newcastle United.
Deeney said on TalkSPORT: “Callum Wilson, a friend of mine. I like him, got a lot of time for him. It was sad watching him play. His body, it’s just gone now, it’s gone.
“He was quick, he was rapid, but I think he had a couple of moments in that game where the old Callum would have run away from people, and he just can’t do it anymore. It’s a shame, because he is a really good lad.”
Potter spoke last week about Wilson’s fitness and his need to catch up before he reaches full fitness. “Well, he didn’t have any pre-season, so we’ve been building him up. I think he had a slight issue last week, which meant he couldn’t start. I didn’t think it was right for him to start,” Potter told Standard Sport.
“But he’s had a really good week training and he’s closer to that. I think when he starts, he won’t be able to do 90 minutes, 90 minutes, 90 minutes. It will be again a management of him. You only have to look at his recent history in terms of availability to understand that there’s a process we have to go through with him.”
The 33-year-old signed a one-year contract with West Ham after around five years at Newcastle, where he scored 47 goals in 113 league appearances.
