'No. 1 target' - West Ham rocked by blockbuster Newcastle United £100m revelation

West Ham are bracing for serious transfer interest from Premier League rivals Newcastle United over talisman Jarrod Bowen this summer.
It has emerged that the 27-year-old is the Magpies' 'number one target' to fill the Tyneside club's right-attacking role. The Northern Echo claims that a 'major move' for the England international is planned for the summer.

Hide AdBowen is currently on international duty with the Three Lions squad at Euro 2024 but has been struggling to muscle his way into the side with Gareth Southgate stoic on his preferred starting XI. The forward has become the key man for West Ham since arriving from Hull City for £22 million in January 2020.
The forward bagged 20 goals in all competitions for the Hammers last season and has a total of 60 goals for the team since making the switch from the Tigers. West Ham have been firm in their stance that Bowen, who recently signed a long-term contract to keep him at the London Stadium until 2030, is not for sale.
However, that does not appear to have deterred Newcastle United. The North East outfit now have Paul Mitchell as sporting director and are beginning to plan this summer's transfers after a hectic end to the financial year ensuring that Premier League Profit and Sustainability rules were met.

Recruiting in the right winger position remains a priority for the Magpies, as well as another centre-back and striker. Miguel Almiron could be allowed to leave the club and sold to a Saudi Arabian side should a winger arrive.

The report also suggests that the £100 million fee supposedly wanted by West Ham is 'regarded as fanciful within senior circles on Tyneside' with Newcastle United apparently eyeing up a cheaper deal.
