Liverpool are already said to be planning for life after Mohamed Salah amid uncertainty over the Egyptian’s long-term future.

The Reds have been battling to keep Salah over the last week or so amid interest from Saudi Arabia. Liverpool have resisted offers for now despite receiving a £200million offer before the end of the Saudi Arabia deadline, with Jurgen Klopp determined to keep hold of his superstar forward, especially given Liiverpool wouldn’t have been able to replace him until January.

But the conversation may resurface in January or next summer, and Liverpool will have a decision to make if it does, with Salah now 31 years of age and arguably on the other side of his prime years.

According to fresh reports from The Athletic, Liverpool are already preparing for life after Salah, well aware that they could lose him, and even if they don’t, clubs should always be planning for life after a veteran star. The report claims the Reds are now considering signing West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen, with the Englishman having been a consistent performer for the Hammers.

Bowen has scored 30 league goals in 129 appearances for West Ham out wide, and he has already kicked off this season with three goals and an assist in four Premier League appearances.

Bowen is said to be one of the names on Liverpool’s list, but he would not likely come cheap, especially not if the Hammers can wrap him up to a new contract. Though, if they do, Liverpool could get their foot in the door, with the winger having a year on his contract from next summer barring a new deal in the meantime.
