West Ham and Manchester United have been hashing out deals for marquee full-back signings this summer in recent weeks and the transfer saga now appears to have come to a close with each Premier League club on the verge of a new signing.
The Hammers had been linked with interest in Bayern Munich defender Noussair Mazraoui this summer as new manager Julen Lopetegui overhauls his inherited squad. Ben Johnson has left the club as a free agent, since joining Ipswich Town, while Vladimir Coufal has just 12 months left on his contract.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that it is the Red Devils who have won the race for the player. Taking to social media platform X on Saturday, Romano wrote: "Noussair Mazraoui to Man United, here we go! Green light as planned after Wan-Bissaka’s move to West Ham.
"Mazraoui will cost €20m add-ons included, payment terms favorable as Man United wanted. Mazraoui signs five year deal + one more year, negotiated by Rafaela Pimenta."
While that news will come as a blow to the Hammers, it does pave the way for Lopetegui to land another target at full-back in Red Devils star Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The defender, who cost United £45 million from Crystal Palace in 2019, has just a year left on his current Old Trafford deal and had been tipped with a summer exit.

In the market in that position, West Ham were linked with a move although some reports suggested that Wan-Bissaka wasn't keen on a switch to the London Stadium. In another update today, Romano has now given that move the 'here we go' treatment too.
He wrote on X: "Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham, here we go! Verbal agreement in place for right back to join #WHUFC from Man United as planned. Understand medical tests already booked on Sunday for AWB! Fee will be £15m. Man United authorized AWB to travel… Mazraoui, joining soon."
The news comes after West Ham confirmed the signing of Jean-Clair Todibo from OGC Nice today in a big summer of spending for Lopetegui.
