A new update has emerged regarding the former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel's stance on becoming West Ham's new manager.

David Moyes, the current Hammers boss, has been under rising pressure as the London Stadium club have now gone eight matches without a win, last seeing success when they beat Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates. Since then, Moyes has overseen three Premier League draws, an FA Cup knock-out at the hands of Bristol City, and three Premier League defeats including a 6-0 hammering by Mikel Arteta's squad.

According a to a new report by the Sun, the Hammers chiefs are exploring new options for a boss but will 'remain firmly behind' the 60-year-old Scotsman for the immediate future. While it was imagined just a few months ago that Moyes would soon be signing a new contract, those talks have been put on hold and the latest report from the Sun would suggest that the ex-Manchester United manager may be out of work by the time June comes around.

As for potential replacements, there was a lot of noise when it was confirmed Thomas Tuchel's contract would be terminated at Bayern Munich at the end of the 2023/24 season. The German side are currently at risk of enduring their first season since 2011/12 without a trophy as they remain eight points behind the current league leaders Bayern Leverkusen.

With Tuchel's availability then speculated ahead of the 2024/25 season, many imagined a return to London could be on the cards. However, the reports from the Sun indicate that while the German manager is desperate for a return to the Premier League, the former Blues boss is not interested in any potential vacancy in Stratford.

Of course, this is not the first time Moyes has been at risk of removal. Last time, however, he quickly bounced from a potential relegation battle and oversaw the side's triumph on the continent, lifting the UEFA Europa Conference League trophy in June 2023.

West Ham's current dip in form has also coincided with the loss of Lucas Paqueta from the squad. The Brazilian midfielder picked up an injury during the Irons defeat to Bristol City but he is now back in training and could return imminently.

Any potential decision regarding the future of the managerial position could rely on how West Ham's form progresses with the absence or return of the Manchester City target. What does seem to be confirmed, however, is that Thomas Tuchel will not be the manager come August 2024.
