“Embarrassing” Declan Rice bid slammed

Naturally, we’ll start off with the latest on Rice. It’s common knowledge now that West Ham are looking for £100 million for their captain and Arsenal remain the club in pole position to snap him up. This is, if they actually offer the amount that the Irons are looking for.

According to The Athletic this week, Arsenal had a second bid worth a potential £90 million rejected by West Ham. Gabby Agbonlahor has slammed the offer and has urged the Gunners to “buck their ideas up” or risk losing out on signing Rice all together.

“They did this with [Mykhailo] Mudryk and lost out. Mudryk didn’t do too well, but he’ll be better next season. If you mess about, it’s going to give Man City the chance to come in,” he told Football Insider.

“I heard the offer Arsenal made was embarrassing. I agree with West Ham. If you want a big player like Rice, you pay a big amount up front.”

West Ham make Arsenal figure their top priority

While Arsenal are eager to take a star from West Ham, the Irons are also trying to do the same. FootballTransfers has reported that Folarin Balogun is now a priority signing for Moyes following his impressive season on loan in Ligue 1.

The US international took the move after struggling to break into Mikel Arteta’s first team. Balogun netted 21 goals in 37 league appearances for Stade Reims, putting him firmly on the radar of West Ham. The report also claims that the Irons would be willing to accept a part-exchange deal for Rice, with Balogun being the mentioned player.
