The future of Declan Rice has dominated the headlines for a number of months with several high-profile clubs eyeing a move for the West Ham United star.

The England midfielder has reportedly rejected an offer of a new deal - but still has two years remaining on his existing contract with the Hammers. It is also understood West Ham hold an option to extend that deal by a further 12 months.

Speaking about the speculation over Rice’s rejection of the offer, Hammers boss David Moyes said: “I’ve said it and I think we have said what we think. We like Dec and he’s got three and a half years to go on his contract so I don’t think there is any big panic.

“We’ve got three and a half years so it isn’t the biggest priority. We’ve got other priorities, trying to add to the squad and get other positions in.

“Maybe he just wants more money. People do turn down contracts. It is not unusual for players at clubs to turn down contracts, maybe it is a negotiation tactic.

“I sold Wayne Rooney and Everton got better. It doesn’t always mean that things don’t happen. We’ve said before that we’ve got no intention of selling so I don’t know why you keep asking.”

A number of clubs in the Premier League and around Europe are reportedly monitoring the situation but five are leading the market with SkyBet.

Newcastle United 20/1

The Magpies are being linked with a whole host of big names as they look to build on what has been an impressive run of former under Eddie Howe.

The former Bournemouth manager is set to be handed more funds this summer as he continues to put his own stamp on the squad - although it is believed the budget will not be as sizable as some have suggested.

A move for Rice seems highly unlikely after West Ham boss David Moyes suggested the midfielder would command a fee in excess of £100million.

That would smash Newcastle’s existing transfer record, which was set when they handed over £40million to Hoffenheim for Brazilian star Joelinton.

Liverpool 12/1

The Reds are currently focusing on trying to complete what would be an unprecedented quadruple as they look to add the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League trophies to the Carabao Cup they won against Chelsea earlier this season.

Jurgen Klopp is not expected to conduct too much transfer business this summer, with an emphasis on adding further quality, rather than quantity, to an already strong squad.

One area that could be refreshed is in the heart of the Reds midfield - although the inspired form of Thiago and Fabinho means a move for Rice seems unlikely at this point in time.

Manchester City 8/1

The reigning Premier League champions seem a more credible destination - or possible destination - for Rice.

The summer departure of long-serving midfielder Fernandinho seems to open up a space in the heart of Pep Guardiola’s side and Rice could be viewed as a like-for-like replacement for the Brazilian.

His comfort on the ball, versatility and leadership would all fit the Guardiola mould and City would be able to release the funds to cover the price tag placed upon Rice’s head.

This one could be one to watch!

Chelsea 5/1

As many of you will know, Rice started out his career in Chelsea’s academy before being released at the age of 14 before joining the youth setup at West Ham.

That could prove a costly mistake for the Stamford Bridge club as they are known admirers of the England midfielders.

There are several issues to take into consideration with their interest - not least, the ongoing situation surrounding the ownership of the club.

That should be resolved over the summer - but it remains to be seen just how much that will impact on Thomas Tuchel’s transfer business during the close-season.

Manchester United 3/1

Another new horizon awaits at Old Trafford as Ajax manager Erik ten Hag prepares to get his reign underway this summer.

It seems highly likely the Dutchman will overhaul an unperforming Red Devils squad and several players will depart before the start of next season.

The departure of World Cup winner Paul Pogba seems inevitable, but the Frenchman will be far from the only player seeking pastures new over the summer months.

Rice is believed to be admired within the Manchester United hierarchy - but whether that stretches to the incoming manager remains to be seen.
