West Ham manager David Moyes bit his tongue when asked about the VAR decisions that ultimately decided the outcome of his West Ham side's meeting with Aston Villa at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Hammers saw an injury time winner chalked off for handball as Konstantinos Mavropanos, Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen bundled a James Ward-Prowse free-kick over the line. West Ham had already seen a Michail Antonio goal disallowed for handball earlier in the second half.

In his post-match press conference, Moyes was clearly fed up with the impact of VAR on his side but was careful to avoid taking a swipe at officials. He told the media: "You can contact Howard yourself and get the results or who to speak to regarding it. Burnley last week. Freiburg. Two today. Every one has gone against us. It's hard to take.

"I'm not going to comment on them. If VAR thinks it's right, it must be right. Football people see things differently."

The point keeps West Ham in seventh place after a busy week which saw them progress to the Europa League quarter-final thanks to a dominant 5-0 win over SC Freiburg. Despite dropping two points at home on Sunday, Moyes praised his side's performance.

He said: "I thought we performed really well the first half. Aston Villa played really well in the second half and put us on the back foot. I thought our performance was really good overall and we still went on to create a few chances. Really pleased with how the players played today.

I've not really got any comment on it."
