David Moyes explains 'difficult' task Pochettino has at Chelsea ahead of West Ham game

West Ham will travel to Chelsea this weekend looking for three points that could help secure European football.

West Ham boss David Moyes has described Chelsea’s Mauricio Pochettino as a 'great manager' ahead of their Premier League meeting this weekend. Moyes is under pressure but could save his job if he can beat Chelsea to some form of European football at the end of the season.

Asked what he thought of a manager who has consistently had at least 10 players out for large parts of the season, yet still been able to reach the final of the League Cup and be in the hunt for Europe, Moyes said there was no doubt he was a good manager.

He told reporters ahead of the game on Sunday: "I'm not an expert on Chelsea, but I think he's had a difficult job, and they've started to hit form. Mauricio is a great manager, and they have a lot of good, young players. We're going to have to play well to get a result against them."

About the importance of the game

West Ham could record just their third Premier League double over Chelsea but Moyes does not want to get drawn into the talks of which game is more important than the other.

He added when asked about the importance of a win: "It's really important, but only as important as the other 35 games we've played.

"There are lots of tough stadiums to go to, and Stamford Bridge has always been one of those. We'll go there and do everything we can to get a result."

For the game, West Ham will have Konstantinos Mavropanos after he missed the last three matches while Chelsea could have both Christopher Nkunku and Levi Colwill back for this one.
