The Foxes have had a bid, believed to be worth £20 million, accepted by Spurs ahead of the two sides meeting in the Premier League on Monday night. That's according to the BBC, with the outlet adding that Skipp is expected to complete his medical at the King Power Stadium on Monday.

The 23-year-old played a fringe part under Ange Postecoglou last season, making 21 top flight appearances but many of those were cameos. It had therefore been widely reported that he could leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium even with the club keen to hold onto the star to help comply with the Premier League's homegrown rules.

The player's move to Leicester City comes after last year's Championship winners sold star midfield man Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Chelsea for £30 million. Spurs have also strengthened in the middle of the park with Archie Gray arriving from Leeds United for a similar fee.

News of a move to Leicester City comes as a blow to a number of Premier League sides who had been linked with a move for Skipp. HITC reports that West Ham are one of the clubs to have 'shown an interest' in the former England youth international, alongside Everton, Ipswich Town, Nottingham Forest and Southampton.

Skipp, who spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Norwich City and helped the side win the Championship, earned plaudits at times last season.

The midfielder was particularly impressive against Brentford in January with his defensive awareness earning praise from pundit Glen Hoddle. The former England manager said: “It’s a fabulous bit of defensive work as well. The little ball goes in, Toney’s offside, it’s true he doesn’t attempt to play the ball. He leaves it. But Skipp, his awareness defensively to get that is amazing. He covered the ground, it’s excellent defending.”
