'Agreed' - West Ham set to confirm first summer arrival 'this week'
West Ham are set to appoint Julen Lopetegui as their new manager later this week. The former Wolves boss will replace David Moyes as he departs the London club.
The BBC reports that the deal has been agreed and that the announcement is to be made in the coming days. West Ham finished the Premier League season with a 3-1 defeat to Champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Hide AdIt had already been widely reported that Lopetegui would be the Soctsman's successor, having been out of work since leaving his post at Wolves last summer. An agreement with the Spaniard is believed to have been sealed earlier this month.
Lopetegui will arrive at West Ham with plenty of time for pre-season preparations before next term, including a two-week trip to the United States for matches against Crystal Palace and his former club Wolves.
Speaking after the close of the Premier League season, Moyes admitted that he had already received job offers but will spend time with family for now - he is also signed up to provide punditry during the Euros this summer.
Providing a statement to the club when it was announced that he would not extend his current deal, David Moyes said: “I have enjoyed four and a half brilliant years at West Ham, and the Club is in a stronger position than when I returned back in 2019.

“After leading the Club to safety, we guided the team to finishes of 6th and 7th in the Premier League, and I was delighted when we won the Europa Conference League title last June – the Club’s first major trophy in 43 years.
“I would like to thank all the players for their support, and all the success they have achieved, over the last four and a half years. I have really enjoyed working with everyone at West Ham, and I would like to thank the Board for giving me the opportunity to manage this great Club. I wish my eventual successor, the Directors, the players, the staff, the fans, and everybody at West Ham, all the very best for the future.”
