West Ham v Everton injury news with 7 out and 3 doubts for huge Premier League clash

West Ham and Everton face off in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon

West Ham United face a big game on Saturday afternoon as they host Everton at the London Stadium. It has been a disappointing start to the Premier League season for the Hammers, who have 11 points from their opening 10 games.

Everton have nine points after losing to 19th-placed Southampton last weekend. It was the Saints’ first win of the league campaign while West Ham were beaten 3-0 at Nottingham Forest in their last outing. Saturday’s contest could be a big moment for Julen Lopetegui’s future at the club - with the Spaniard requiring results fast after a tough opening few months since taking over from David Moyes in the summer.

Everton injury latest

Everton have been dealt a fresh blow this week with veteran defender Seamus Coleman doubtful to face West Ham with a hamstring problem. Timothy Iroegbunam and James Garner are not expected back until December while Youssef Chermiti remains out as he continues to recover from foot surgery.

Armando Broja, who joined the Toffees in the summer, arrived at the club with an Achilles problem. He is back in training but will need to spend time building his fitness back up and will therefore not be in contention against the Irons. Iliman Ndiaye was forced off last weekend but has trained this week while Abdoulaye Doucoure "has a chance" after he missed the clash with Southampton. Dwight McNeil played the full game against the Saints but is struggling with a knee injury and is doubtful.

Everton outs: Iroegbunam, Garner, Broja, Chermiti. Everton doubts: Coleman, Doucoure, McNeil.

West Ham injury latest

The Irons only have one player injured, with Niclas Füllkrug suffering a set-back in his recovery. However, the hosts will also be without both Mohammed Kudus and Edson Álvarez with the pair banned for the game.

Expanding on Füllkrug's injury, Lopetegui said: “He is not ready. He is not working with us, so I think that he's going to be out for a lot of time more, unfortunately. After that, we have the players who are out because of their red cards, who are Mo and Edson, and after we had two little issues, but we have to assess and to check to look if they are going to be able to arrive to the match.

“I am no doctor so I don't know [how long Füllkrug will be out for exactly]. He started with a little injury but step by step it has become more complicated, and it's true that now, with the new treatment, he has to be out for the next two or three weeks, but I don't know exactly, because it depends what else he's going to have with the treatment, so let's see.”

Alvarez was sent off last weekend in a 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest while Kudus’ sending-off at Tottenham Hotspur and subsequent FA charge saw his ban extended from three to five games. The visit of Everton was initially due to be the final game of his ban. On the longer suspension, Lopetegui said: "It’s not good, because we thought we’d only be without him for three matches, but we have to accept it’s now a five-game ban. My focus is on the Everton game, and I’d rather think about what we can control for this match. We know we have challenges, but we have to be ready, and make Saturday count."

West Ham outs: Füllkrug, Kudus, Álvarez. West Ham doubts: None.
