Watford predicted XI to face Preston North End: Will Rob Edwards freshen things up?

How could Watford line up this weekend?

Watford return to the action this weekend with an away trip to Preston North End.

The Hornets have picked up eight points from their opening four Championship matches and find themselves sat in joint-2nd position along with Hull City behind top of the table Blackburn Rovers.

Rob Edwards’ side drew 1-1 in midweek against Birmingham City.

Here is how Watford could line up at Deepdale...

GK: Daniel Bachmann

He has become the Hornets’ number one for this season, despite links to Manchester United over the summer.

RWB: Mario Gaspar

The experienced full-back made the move to Vicarage Road earlier in this transfer window from Villarreal.

CB: Craig Cathcart

The Northern Ireland international is in his nine season with the Hertfordshire outfit.

CB: Francisco Sierralta

He joined back in 2020 from Udinese.

CB: Christian Kabasele

The centre-back is closing in on 150 appearances for Watford.

LWB: Ken Sema

The Sweden international will provide a useful outlet on the left flank.

CM: Edo Kayembe

He has made a decent start to the new campaign and has played in every match under Edwards.

CM: Hamza Choudhury

The former England U21 international is on loan with the Hornets until the end of the season from Leicester City.

FW: Joao Pedro

The Brazilian has been heavily linked with Newcastle United this week, but, for now at least, he remains a Watford player.
