Watford take on League One side MK Dons tonight in the Carabao Cup.

The Hornets have a break from Championship action and have a chance to freshen up their team.

Rob Edwards’ side have picked up nine points from their opening five games so far this season.

Here is how they could line up this evening....

GK: Maduka Okoye

He is competing with Daniel Bachmann for the number one spot after spending time on loan last term at Sparta Rotterdam.

RWB: Mario Gaspar

The Spaniard dropped to the bench in the last match against Preston North End.

CB: Craig Cathcart

The Northern Ireland international injects useful experience into this Watford team.

CB: William Troost-Ekong

He hasn’t started in the league yet this season.

CB: Mattie Pollock

The 20-year-old spent the last campaign on loan at Cheltenham Town and went on to play 34 times for the Robins.

LWB: Ken Sema

He has played for the Vicarage Road club since 2018.

CM: Dan Gosling

The former Everton man came off the bench against the Lilywhites over the weekend.

CM: Hamza Choudhury

He has slotted in nicely into the Hornets’ side since joining on a season-long loan from Leicester City.

CAM: Yaser Asprilla

This is another opportunity for the 18-year-old to get some valuable experience under his belt.

ST: Keinan Davis

He has come off the bench in the past two games and could be handed his debut from the start against MK Dons.

ST: Rey Manaj

The summer recruit from Barcelona has scored once so far since his move and will be eager to build on that.
