King, 30, has left Vicarage Road despite still having a couple of years left on his contract.

Journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu claims he is wanted in Turkey by Fenerbahce now as he weighs up his next move (see tweet below):

Watford spell

Watford swooped to sign the former Manchester United man in July last year following their promotion from the Championship under former boss Xisco Munoz.

He made 33 appearances in all competitions for the Hertfordshire outfit last season as they were relegated. However, he did manage to chip in with five goals.

Prior to his move to the Hornets, King has also played for the likes of Preston North End, Hull City, Blackburn Rovers, AFC Bournemouth and Everton in the past.

The Norway international may now be embarking on a new chapter in his career in the Turkish Super Lig and could link up with former Premier League duo Enner Valencia and Max Meyer in Istanbul.

Other Hornets news

Watford are busy preparing for life back in the second tier and have a new manager at the helm in Rob Edwards.

He made the move earlier this summer after guiding Forest Green Rovers to the League Two title.

The 39-year-old has bolstered his attacking options by signing striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo from Charleroi, whilst Ashley Fletcher has returned from his loan spell away at New York Red Bulls.
