'Deal done' - Watford beat Portsmouth and Preston North End to Premier League 'bully' bagsman

Watford have beaten Championship rivals Portsmouth and Preston North End to the signing of AFC Bournemouth striker Daniel Jebbison on a season-long loan deal this Deadline Day.
With just hours left of the summer window, Tom Cleverley has bolstered his squad with the arrival of the 21-year-old. Jebbison arrives with experience in the Premier League, Championship and League One to his name.

Jebbison has already made three appearances for the Cherries this term, cameos in each Premier League outing and 45 minutes in the Carabao Cup against West Ham.
The player made just one appearance for Sheffield United last season in a campaign ravaged by injury but was a part of the Blades side that won automatic promotion from the Championship in 2023, making 16 league appearances during that campaign.
Preston North End had been linked with transfer interest in Jebbison with the Lancashire Evening Post carrying reports that Paul Heckingbottom tried to hijack the move last minute. Earlier this month, HITC also suggested that Portsmouth were another Championship club keen to strike a loan deal with Bournemouth.
However, it is Watford who have won the transfer race with Jebbison confirmed as a Hornets player for the upcoming season on Friday. Speaking to the club, the striker said: "I like to bully teams, be a problem and get in behind.

"I am very excited, and I just can’t wait to really show how I can help the team. I am a sponge right now, I want to soak up everything and learn as much as possible, and be a better player on and off the pitch.
"I want to score some goals and contribute to the team. There is a good structure here with good people, and good things that you don’t see behind the scenes.
"The gaffer is very ambitious in his goals, he is very clear in his mind what he wants, and we share the same values. I spoke to him early this morning, he has been here since I don’t know what time in the morning, that shows he has time for his job and he loves it - he is a good man."
