Bukayo Saka’s cross looked like it was going to be easily dealt with by the France stopper but Lloris somehow managed to divert the ball into the goal to open the scoring.

As good as Lloris is, he’s often prone to the odd fumble and he couldn’t have picked a worse time for his latest one in an electric atmosphere at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham fans were quick to express their annoyance on social media with @hehatemefrisbee posting in reaction to the goal: “Dude. Haven't we all had enough of him giving away goals?”

A sarcastic response came from @AndyTHFC204 who posted: “What a surprise we've absolutely bottled it with a terrible mistake, we never do stuff like that.” And @DJC3000 replied: “Lloris own goal - what else is new. Other teams best player now on half our season.”
