'Verbal agreement' - Tottenham strike deal with manager who never lasts 12 months
Tottenham have reportedly agreed a deal with a new boss, who will serve until the end of the season.
Tottenham have reportedly offered a short-term contract to a free agent manager, reaching an agreement over terms. Spurs are searching for a new boss after sacking Thomas Frank on Wednesday morning, just hours after a home defeat to Newcastle United.

The mid-week fixtures left Tottenham just five points above the drop, and while having their own share of the blame, the Spurs board felt they could wait no longer.
Tottenham now have until next weekend to appoint their new manager, with that all-important North London derby with Arsenal serving as a deadline of sorts. Spurs will ideally want a new man in place early in the week to prepare for that game, and if they don’t manage it, they will either have to appoint an caretaker or an interim boss, depending on when they do plan to appoint a permanent boss.
But in a fresh claim from Italy, and from Gianluca Di Marzio, to be specific, Spurs have reached an agreement with former Juventus boss Igor Tudor over a short-term deal. It’s claimed the club and Tudor have agreed an initial deal until June to see how things go between now and then.
It’s claimed that there is a ‘verbal agreement’ in place at this point, and that all that is left is for the former Juve boss to sign the papers. Tudor was sacked by Juventus earlier this season after going eight games without a win, but he did secure them a fourth place finish last season after taking over in the spring, suggesting he can make an impact after coming in at the back-end of a season.
Tudor has also had spells with Marseille and Lazio earlier in his career, although strangely, at the 13 clubs he has managed, he has only lasted more than a calendar year at one, so his long-term impacrt at clubs can certainly be questioned.
