Tottenham handed £30m transfer boost as target's father makes admission - amid one key Spurs issue
Tottenham have received a positive update on a summer transfer target
Tottenham Hotspur have received a promising update on their chances of signing Belgian teenager Nathan De Cat this summer, after the highly-rated youngster’s father made a telling admission about his son’s future.

Spurs have much work to contend to on the pitch in the meantime, but must prepare for the summer in case of all eventualities as the Lilywhites aim for Premier League survival. Interim head coach Igor Tudor earnt his first victory at the club in midweek as Spurs beat Atletico Madrid 3-2 on the night but were eliminated from the Champions League on aggregate, and will hope that performance is the catalyst for a momentous result against Nottingham Forest in the league on Sunday.
The north London outfit have already been linked with prospective transfer targets ahead of an anticipated rebuild this summer.
Spurs handed boost in Nathan De Cat transfer pursuit
According to reports by Sport Witness relaying reports from Belgium, 17-year-old Anderlecht midfielder and Tottenham target De Cat might be on the move this summer after the player’s father shut down talk of a new contract at his current side.
De Cat sees his current deal run until 2027 and is in ‘no hurry’ to renew, meaning that Anderlecht might be placed in an uncompromising position this summer as they decide whether to sell the wonderkid or risk losing him for nothing next summer.
Spurs are thought to be ‘willing to pay’ up to £30million to secure the future of the young midfielder and beat the competition, amid interest from the likes of Manchester United and Brighton & Hove Albion. The 2008-born gem has made 37 appearances this season, registering three goals and five assists and becoming a key player for his side, and is attracting understandable interest across Europe.
For the Lilywhites, though, one key factor remains in their pursuit – survival. De Cat could have his pick of clubs this summer and will have ‘no desire’ to play in the Championship. If Spurs remain in the top flight next term, they could make their way to the front of the queue for his signature.
