Liverpool vs Tottenham final injury update as 10 ruled out and 1 doubt

A look at the injury news surrounding Tottenham and Liverpool as they prepare to face off in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg.

Tottenham return to action on Thursday evening when they take on Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg. Spurs head to Anfield with a one-goal lead over the Premier League leaders, but they know that is a slender advantage to hold on to, especially with the defensive record Ange Postecoglou’s men have over recent weeks.

Injuries are starting to clear up a little at the back, but Spurs have been decimated by injuries at the top end of the pitch, leading to the signing of Mathys Tel on deadline day. Here we round up all the latest on the injury front for Spurs and Liverpool.

Trent Alexander-Arnold - Out

Alexander-Arnold has a hamstring issue, with Arne Slot saying: “He is going to miss the game tomorrow, and we have to see if he is able to play on Sunday. He is already on the pitch, not with the team but with the rehab coach, so let’s see how long it is going to take.”

Joe Gomez - Fit

Slot has confirmed Gomez is fit, saying: “Training today. We have 20 players available. We have to make the smartest decision for them and to win the game tomorrow.”

Radu Dragusin - Out

A fresh blow, Dragusin is out for the season after suffering an ACL tear.

Dominic Solanke - Out

Solanke is out until later in the month, with Postecoglou saying of his knee issue: “Dom, who is probably a week behind them, the rest of them are slated to be back in the next week to 10 days to be available.”

Cristian Romero - Out

Romero is still out with his hamstring issue, and will be on a similar timeline to Solanke. Postecoglou has said: “Romero is a bit of a tricky one. We are not really sure yet. There is still some work he needs to do. It’s just a slower healer, and it is one we are looking at on a week-to-week basis.”

Wilson Odobert - Out

Postecoglou has said: “They are all kind of around the same time - around 10 days. We are talking about Vicario, (Brennan) Johnson, Destiny (Udogie), Wilson (Odobert), and Timo (Werner).”

James Maddison - Out

Maddison has a calf injury and falls into the above timeline.

Destiny Udogie - Out

Udogie has a hamstring issue and will be back over the weekend or a little later.

Gugliemo Vicario - Out

Vicario has an ankle injury and falls into the above timeline.

Timo Werner - Out

Wener has a hamstring injury and should be back within the next week.

Brennan Johnson - Out

Johnson has a calf injury and is on a similar timeline.

Micky van de Ven - Doubt

Postecoglou said of the defender’s return: “Micky got through the [Europa League] game with no problem, but he feels he's not ready yet for the step up to the Premier League. And after losing Radu (Dragusin), I'm not going to risk these guys.”
