Ipswich Town vs Tottenham injury news: 9 players out with 4 in doubt while 4 'concerns' could feature

Tottenham make the trip to play Ipswich on Saturday and could be missing up to nine players.

Tottenham head to Ipswich this weekend as they look to get their third consecutive win in the Premier League.

Ange Postecoglou’s side won 1-0 against Manchester United in their last game, and will be keen to keep their winning run in tact as they look to push up into the top half of the table.

They face an Ipswich side who are 18th in the Premier League, two points away from safety as things stand. Kieran McKenna’s side are winless in their last six league games.

Ipswich injury news

The Tractor Boys could be without up to eight players for the game against Spurs on Saturday at Portman Road. Firstly, Wes Burns remains out for a long period after undergoing surgery to repair his ACL after what was a major injury to the winger. He is set to return in 2026.

Chiedoze Ogbene is also out after having sugery on his achilles in November, he will also be out for the remainder of the season. Goalkeeper Christian Walton was in a backup role before Ipswich signed Alex Palmer from West Brom, he is now the third-choice keeper. Walton is out until April with a groin injury.

The Spurs game will come too soon for attacker Conor Chaplin, who looks set to return before the end of the month. He is recovering from a long-term MCL injury, and so won’t be rushed back. Sammie Szmodics is a doubt for Saturday as he is recovering from an ankle injury. He missed Ipswich’s last game against Aston Villa, but could be available this weekend.

Midfielder Sam Morsy had to miss the last game too, and he is currently being assessed as McKenna said over the weekend: “Samy, we lost early in the week - hopefully not too major. It's a little inflammation around his abdominal region.”

Defender Leif Davis picked up a knock in training last week, so he missed the Villa game. It is not expected to be a major issue, and the full-back should be in line to return this weekend. Brighton loanee Julio Enciso is also being assessed with a knee injury. McKenna said: “Julio is down the side of his knee, so we'll have to wait for assessment.”

Ipswich players ruled out: Wes Burns, Chiedoze Ogbene, Christian Walton, Conor Chaplin

Ipswich players in doubt: Sammie Szmodics, Sam Morsy, Leif Davis, Julio Enciso

Tottenham injury news

Spurs could be missing nine players for the game, but it looks as though Ange Postecoglou could see several key names return for his side this weekend, which would be a major boost. Firstly, Radu Dragusin is out for the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery on his ACL. Dominic Solanke is also expected to miss a few more weeks as he continues to recover from his knee injury.

Micky van de Ven looked close to a return, but he suffered a set-back in his recovery. Postecoglou said recently: “Micky, we’re looking at the next two or three weeks. We decided to take a different strategy with him.

“We just want to make sure he’s absolutely right... talking to different people, he’s working with different medical teams and rehab staff to make sure he’s right.”

Richarlison has also been ruled out due to a calf injury that he suffered against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup. He is expected to be out until mid-March. Centre-back Cristian Romero will also miss the trip to Ipswich as he continues to recover from a long-term hamstring injury. He should be good to go in the next few matches however.

With five players ruled out, four Spurs stars could be returning this weekend, which is great news for Postecoglou. Three of those players all featured last weekend but ended the game with some injury concerns.

Defender Kevin Danso is being assessed over a knock that he picked up to his knee during Spurs’ last game against Manchester United. Postecoglou said after the game: “I don't think it is anything significant.”

Heung-Min Son is hoping to return too as he is dealing with a knock, and is being assessed over his fitness ahead of Saturday’s game. If he can avoid starting him, Postecoglou may rest the attacker in order to not risk an aggravation.

Midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur is also a doubt. Much like Son and Danso, his knock isn’t expected to be major, and he is being assessed ahead of the trip to Portman Road this weekend.

Finally, attacker Timo Werner could make a return from his hamstring injury. Postecoglou said over the weekend: “Timo is also training with us and is getting pretty close to being available.”

Tottenham players ruled out: Radu Dragusin, Dominic Solanke, Micky Van de Ven, Richarlison, Cristian Romero

Tottenham players possible available: Kevin Danso, Heung-Min Son, Rodrigo Bentancur, Timo Werner
