Arteta is expected to freshen things up following disappointing results in Arsenal’s previous two league games against Everton and Brentford.

The Spaniard has made the fewest amount of changes to his starting line-up this season in the Premier League, naming an unchanged side in the past six games.

However, recent results may persuade Arteta to select different players for the mammoth league match in north London.

“They deserve opportunities,” said Arteta in his pre-match press conference.

“Obviously we are looking to give players opportunities that they deserve. You talked about Leo [Trossard] - we’re talking about anybody who has had minutes in this league. There will be changes - it will happen and very soon.

“Every team is trying to work out what we do, the same that we do with every opponent [we face]. When I look at the games and what we produce, I’m usually very satisfied with what happens.

“Sometimes we can do better because there are many factors that can determine that, but we are always looking to evolve to be better with the players we have, and put them in the best positions to win the games.”

Takehiro Tomiyasu

The only other Japanese player currently playing in the Premier League alongside Mitoma is currently on course to join Kagawa, Minamino and Okazaki as a Premier League winner.
The defender joined Arsenal from Bologna in 2019 for £15.5m and quickly impressed Gunners fans with his upper-body strength and overall defensive abilities.
An injury midway through last season derailed his campaign slightly and the 24-year-old is now second-choice right-back behind Ben White.
However, Mikel Arteta still values the Japanese international very highly and will need him to help the club win their first league title in 19 years.

Tomiyasu's last league start was almost a month ago in Arsenal's game against Manchester United, where he was taken off at half time.

Ben White has been mostly used at right back this season but with recent underwhelming performances, a change could be on the cards at Emirates Stadium.

Trossard has impressed in cameo appearances since joining from Brighton in January.

He scored an important goal against Brentford on Saturday and was a bright spark after coming off the bench in the defeat to Everton.

It remains to be seen whether he starts ahead of someone like Gabriel Martinelli, but he is certainly pushing for a place in the starting XI.

Jorginho

The experienced midfielder could be involved from the start after impressing in recent training sessions.

Arteta opted to sign the Italian in January due to his mentality, experience and know-how in big Premier League games - and it doesn’t get much bigger than a crunch game against the reigning champions.
