Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino will return to the club this week when he leads his Chelsea side against Ange Postecoglou's men.
The Argentine is under fire at Stamford Bridge after an underwhelming season for the Blues. Chelsea sit ninth in the table, 12 points off their London rivals Spurs in fifth.
While in north London, Pochettino led Spurs to a second-place top flight finish in 2017, as well as a Champions League and League Cup semi-final. Ahead of his return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, LondonWorld looks at the first competitive starting XI ever chosen by Pochettino at Spurs, a season opening 1-0 win over West Ham at the Boleyn Ground, and where the footballing stars are now.
1. GK - Hugo Lloris
Left Tottenham Hotspur at the end of 2023 after an 11-year stint at the club. Is now playing for Los Angeles FC in the MLS.
2. LB - Danny Rose
Left Spurs when his contract expired in 2021 and joined Watford on a two-year deal. Made a handful of appearances but terminated his contract in September 2022 after the Hornet's relegation. Hasn't found a club since.
3. CB - Eric Dier
Went on loan to Bayern Munich in January and was last week hailed as an 'excellent signing' by Thomas Tuchel. His move will become permanent this summer when his Spurs deal expires.
4. CB - Younes Kaboul
Was enjoying his second spell at Spurs when Pochettino first arrived. Didn't maintain a place in the starting XI that season and signed for Sunderland at the end of the campaign. Kaboul went on to play for Watford and is now retired. Photo: Getty Images
