What Tottenham have done for the first time since February in 3-1 Nottingham Forest win

Tottenham impressed heavily in the second half to beat Nottingham Forest at home.

Tottenham have returned to fourth on the league table with a 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League. This is the first time since 17 February that the Lilywhites have returned to a guaranteed Champions League spot.

In recent weeks, Spurs have passed down the opportunity to take the spot with some disappointing results, but they more than took it with both hands this time around with Micky van de Ven and Pedro Porro adding to an own goal from Nottingham Forest defender  Murillo.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou was delighted with the team but did not want to get dragged into talks of Champions League football. he told reporters after the win in north London: “Yeah, go right for it, right from the start.

“Couldn't care less about the race for fourth mate. What I care about is the way the team is progressing. Pleased with today. It had a little bit of everything. We started the game well, not just the goal, I thought we controlled the game well.

“Then we conceded from a counter-attack which was obviously disappointing. I thought we lost our way a little bit towards the back end of that first half, but a super reaction and the whole second half we were really dominant.

“We played some good football and scored a couple of good goals and created a couple more against a team that is desperate for points and fighting for everything. I guess every team is fighting for something and I thought we handled it really well.”

Spurs are next in action on Saturday when they take on Newcastle with Eddie Howe’s side desperate for three points that will aid their push for a Europa League spot.
