What Harry Kane has told ex-Tottenham teammates ahead of ‘massive’ Arsenal game

Former Tottenham forward Harry Kane has vowed to stay in touch with his former club despite turning down a chance to sign a new deal and stay in Seven Sisters for the rest of his career.

The England captain left the club he joined as a boy last month and headed to Munich where he feels he will have a better chance of adding trophies to his career. Kane is Tottenham’s record goal-scorer with 280 competitive goals for the Lilywhites.

He also won three Premier League Golden Boot awards and is regarded widely as one of the best English strikers of all time. He’s wasted little time settling into life in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich and has scored four goals and one assist in the league. Last night, he scored from the spot as Bayern beat Manchester United 3-1 in the Champions League.

Kane however admits he will always have a soft spot for the north London club and says he will be watching how they get on against Arsenal this weekend.

The 30-year-old said ahead of Bayern Munich’s Champions League game against Manchester United: “I’m always keeping an eye on them and I’ll keep an eye on Tottenham for the rest of my life,” Kane said.

“I’m really happy to see the team playing the way they are and to see the fans happy is a great thing. They’ve got a massive game coming up [Arsenal on Sunday] so, for sure, I’ll see how they get on over the course of the season.”

In Kane’s absence, Tottenham have made a bright start to the Premier League season with four wins and one draw in their first five games of the season.
