Tottenham vs Luton team news: nine ruled out and four doubts as Ange Postecoglou handed early boost

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou will see his team go top of the Premier League if they can win their early kick off game against newly promoted side Luton Town.

The Lilywhites have not lost a league game this season, with five wins and two draws including a controversial one against Liverpool that has dominated the VAR discussions.

The Lilywhites have as many as eight players fighting for fitness including Manor Solomon who is being assessed after reports that he picked up a hamstring injury in training. Luton have five players out including loan signing Albert Sambi Lokonga.

Ivan Perisic has been ruled out while Bryan Gil is on his way back having had to undergo surgery following an injury in pre-season. Tottenham are huge favourites for the game at Kenilworth Road with expectations high within the fanbase given how good the start to the campaign has been.

This is the first meeting between Luton Town and Tottenham since a goalless draw in a top-flight game at Kenilworth Road in March 1992.

Luton’s Rob Edwards is looking to be the first Welsh manager to win a Premier League game against Tottenham since Mark Hughes with Stoke City in May 2015. Since then, Welshmen have drawn four and lost seven against Spurs - including the past five by an aggregate score of 18-2.

So with both teams looking for all three points here are some of the players who are doubts and those ruled out of the game.
