Tottenham injury news ahead of Burnley: Six players ruled out and key man doubtful for FA Cup game

Tottenham will be without players due to AFCON, Asian Cup and injuries as they begin their FA Cup journey on Friday.

It has been 33 years since Tottenham last won the FA Cup and they've not won any trophy in the last 16 years, but Ange Postecogou will hope that 2024 is the year Spurs finally end their trophy drought.

They will be without powerful midfield duo Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr, who have both now departed for the AFCON, Bissouma would have been suspended anyway following his sending-off at Nottingham Forest

When Tottenham had almost a full squad, they began the league season with eight wins from their first 10 games before disaster struck at home against Chelsea in November, that day, they had two players sent off and lost another two to long-term injuries.

They have since had to change the way they manage games even though manager Postecoglou has maintained they will never alter the way they play. The disappointing Carabao Cup loss to Fulham has added another layer of expectation to the FA Cup campaign this year.

The strength of the bench will be tested and with players out for AFCON, Asian Cup and injuries, this is where the season finally takes off for the Lilywhites. Burnley are 19th in the Premier League table and five points off safety.

The Clarets can turn their full focus to the FA Cup which they hope could be their respite in what has been a tough return to the top flight. Spurs are favourites for this one, but with a host of players out through injury, this could be tricky.

Below is the list of players who are still battling fitness ahead of the game on Friday night:
